The folks at Jem Grip Auto Tire are fair and honest. Always do their best to inform me on maintenance of my vehicles. At my last oil change they caught a repair and recommended I go to the vehicle manufacturer to see if my vehicle warranty covered the repairs! They are dependable and care about their customers.

I must admit I am not knowledgeable when it comes to the intricacies of a car. I leave that up to JEM. This is why I rely on the knowledgeable efficiency and honest upfront way the JEM team have been servicing my cars. I have been bringing my vehicles for the past many years to them. We brought in a truck from Saskatchewan that needed to be safety inspected and they staff was very good and gave us a very detailed report showing what was urgently needed and what was not. My tire unfortunately popped while I was driving, luckily it was right outside of Grip Auto and I was able to pull over and park outside of their establishment for the night. I called in the morning to let them know my car was there and they put together a quote for me for 4 new tires as I was planning on getting new ones soon anyways. When I got there Friday afternoon we went over the quote (Ian specifically spoke to me about the difference types of tires and found 4 of them within my $500 budget - his customer service is excellent) they mentioned it took a day to get the new tires in and because it was almost the long weekend they wouldnt have them in until Tuesday. I still had a popped tire and needed to get around, so they did whatever they could to make sure I was driving off their lot. They offered me multiple options (one of which was taking their courtesy car for the weekend) but we ended up taking my tires off my car and putting on spares that they had in the shop so that I could drive my own car! They didnt charge me to take the tires off/put back on and they didnt have to do this, I found them extremely helpful, informative & knowledgeable! They were amazed at how bad my tires were and I wish I would have went to them sooner. They saved my thanksgiving weekend and I am so excited to get my brand new tires tomorrow! :)Thanks Jem Grip Auto!

I started going to Jem 7 years ago. They have been great! Honest. Reliable, can get us in quickly and do great work. They have saved us so much money over the years, something I never thought I’d say about a mechanic.When we take the cars in, even if it’s just for an oil change or switch tires over, they always check everything and let us know of potential problems or upcoming work and Ian is great at giving us options to save money.We took our car in because the brakes were squeaking and thought they needed to be replaced. Jem checked them, cleaned them and called us to let us know the brakes were still good, just dirty and didn’t charge us for the appointment. Which is one example of why we trust them.They are very friendly and go above and beyond what you would expect from your mechanic. we will never go anywhere else.As a woman, going to the mechanic can be a stressful time. Ian and the guys there have always made me feel comfortable and are super helpful with any little question or concern I have.

I made an appointment at Jem because a friend highly recommended them. I booked an oil change appointment and test drive so the service manager could hear and feel what my car was doing because I suspected a problem with the transmission. Unfortunately he said things didn't sound good and he'd need to do some research and get back to me. In the mean time I got a oil change, all the top ups, and he ever rotated my tired and fixed a burnt out reverse light free of charge. The whole bill ended up being less expensive than getting an oil change by one of the quick drive up places, plus I had piece of mind and he didn't try to sell me filter replacements etc. After the news on my car's possible transmission status, I did some research and so did he. He called later that day with info on replacement products, time for repair, etc, and I shared that due to my car's possible problem it might still be under warranty at Ford. He said as much as he's like my business (it'd be a ~$4000 bill) he advised that I take it into Ford so someone that specializes could take a look. It would be easy enough for him to say that sticking with Jem was best options, but he was honest and open, something rare considering I'm a woman in her 20's that doesn't know much about cars.In future, I'll recommend Jem to all my friends just as they were recommended to me.

I've always been very nervous going into auto shops. My lack of knowledge has always left me feeling vulnerable and concerned that I'll be taken advantage of. The people at GRIP auto eased all of those worries. They were kind, transparent, honest, and friendly during the entire interaction. They explained what was happening with my car, and even showed me photos of what the problem looked like so I would have a better understanding of what was going on. I'm happy that I found them and I will absolutely be going back.

Have taken my vehicles here a few times now and the guys are professional and communicate well. Prices are reasonable (par for the course), and they are open on Saturdays which is a big bonus. I docked one star because I had some challenges with their online system which would have made my life a lot easier but created a bit more of a headache instead. The staff tried what they could to accommodate after that though so I was happy.

I had a nail in my tire and drove over to Grip Tire Coquitlam and was helped right away. I was worried they would not be able to repair it due to where the nail was but they said they would try and they did! It only took about 30 minutes and he even vacuumed out our car. I was pleased with the service and felt they were honest and upfront. The manager definitely takes pride in his work and it shows. Thanks guys!
